A Stroll Through Promenade des Anglais in Nice
Nov,01,2025

During my visit to Nice, I made sure to spend some time at one of the most iconic places in the city—the Promenade des Anglais. This seven-kilometer seaside avenue, also known as Anglo Street, runs along the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Nice. The Promenade is a place that captures the essence of the French Riviera, blending beautiful views with the charm of southern France. It was the perfect spot to take in the sights, enjoy the weather, and experience the vibrancy of this coastal city.

As I walked along the Promenade des Anglais, the first thing I noticed was the impressive rows of palm trees lining both sides of the street. The palm trees made the atmosphere feel even more tropical, enhancing the laid-back vibe of the area. On one side of the avenue was the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, its blue waters stretching endlessly. The waves crashed gently onto the shore, and the white foam glistened under the sun. It was a peaceful yet lively place, with people walking, cycling, or simply sitting and enjoying the view. The sound of the waves was calming, and the sea breeze was refreshing.

Walking along the Promenade, I felt like I was experiencing a piece of the Mediterranean charm. The salty air, the bright sunlight, and the stunning view of the coastline all came together to make it an unforgettable experience. The feeling of being so close to the sea and having such beautiful scenery all around me made the stroll even more enjoyable.

The Promenade des Anglais is not only a place for walking, but it’s also a hub for dining and relaxation. There are many restaurants and cafés lined up along the avenue, offering a wide variety of food and drinks. I could smell the scent of freshly baked pastries and strong coffee wafting through the air, tempting me to stop and enjoy a meal or a snack. The cafés are perfect for sitting outside, watching people go by, and taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the street.

On the opposite side of the Promenade, there was a long and wide beach. During the summer months, visitors from around the world flock to the beach to soak up the sun, swim, or relax by the sea. The beach is often busy, with people lounging on colorful sunbeds, playing in the sand, or cooling off in the clear blue water. It felt great to see so many people enjoying the beautiful day by the sea.

The Promenade des Anglais is not just about the beach and the views. It also connects to other important spots in Nice. One of the highlights of my walk was reaching the Castle Hill Park (Colline du Château). From there, I had a panoramic view of Nice and its surroundings. The park was a peaceful escape from the busy streets, and it offered a great spot to take photos.

As I walked further along the Promenade, I passed the old town of Nice. The narrow streets, colorful buildings, and bustling markets gave me a taste of the city’s rich history and culture. I also passed by the famous "I Love Nice" sign, a popular photo spot for tourists. It was fun to stop and snap a picture to remember my time in this beautiful city.

One of the things I loved most about the Promenade des Anglais was how it transformed in the evening. As the sun set, the street began to light up with soft lights. The atmosphere became more romantic, and the view of the sea at twilight was breathtaking. Street performers and musicians filled the area with live music, adding to the lively and festive mood. I could hear the sound of a guitar playing nearby, and people were dancing or simply sitting and enjoying the music.

The Promenade is definitely a place where both locals and tourists come to relax and enjoy the evening. I sat on one of the benches along the avenue, watching the sunset and enjoying the lively energy around me. It was a peaceful moment, but also full of life.

If you’re planning to visit the Promenade des Anglais, make sure to take your time and enjoy the surroundings. There’s no rush, as the beauty of this place is meant to be savored. If you’re visiting during the warmer months, bring sunscreen, as the sun can be strong. I also recommend stopping at one of the cafés to have a drink and relax while people-watching. The Promenade is always busy, but there’s a certain calmness to it that makes it enjoyable no matter the time of day.

Walking along the Promenade des Anglais was one of the highlights of my time in Nice. The combination of stunning views, lively atmosphere, and cultural attractions made it an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re enjoying a relaxing stroll by the sea, exploring the surrounding areas, or taking in the sunset, the Promenade des Anglais truly represents the charm and beauty of the French Riviera.
