Lima

Lima, the capital and largest city of Peru located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, is a vibrant metropolis that blends rich history, colonial architecture, and a dynamic contemporary culture.

The historic center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to beautiful colonial-era buildings, including the impressive Plaza Mayor. The Plaza is surrounded by key landmarks such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and the Archbishop’s Palace. The nearby Convento de San Francisco, with its impressive library and catacombs, offers a glimpse into Lima’s colonial past. The Malecón in Miraflores district, a clifftop promenade, offers breathtaking views of the coastline and is perfect for a walk or bike ride.

The Museo de Arte de Lima (Lima Art Museum) offers a mix of both Peruvian and international art, while the Museo de la Nación (National Museum) provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s cultural heritage.

The city is home to a wide range of restaurants offering both traditional Peruvian dishes and innovative contemporary cuisine. From ceviche (raw fish marinated in citrus and spices) to pisco cocktails, Lima’s food culture is rich and diverse.
